I've been listening a lot to a music stream called
Illinois Street Lounge. I really love it - especially as background music for when I am working. I have always loved this style of music. Think of the music themes to "Get Smart" or "I Dream Of Jeannie" and throw in some bossa-nova like Gilberto's "Girl From Impanema" and some classic bachelor pad / martini lounge from the likes of Esquival, Martin Denny and Farrente/Teicher. They even throw in real corn-ball like "Thelonius Moog" (a play on the name of the famous jazz pianist Thelonius Monk) with nutty tunes played on a synthesizer. A lot of this music was created at the time that stereo recordings really started becoming ubiquitous so there is a lot of interesting stereo effects involved in much of it. I really can't get enough of it although I don't know where Illinois Street is...

It's at University of Illinois Urbana Champaign
Illinois Street Lounge
1010 W. Illinois, Urbana
Hmmmm... Are you sure about that? I went to college in Urbana-Champaign and seem to recall that Illinois Street was a residence hall (dorm). And as a dorm, they had lounges on every floor. But not hip martini lounges ;-) lol
Its a bar on Illinois Street in San Francisco. Ill Street runs right past ATT Park, where the Giants play.
THAT sounds more like it! Thanks a bunch!
